LOCATION: Henderson Mine, Clear Creek County, Colorado
Beautiful specimen of drusy Creedite from Colorado. This 7 x 5 x 3 cm (just at 3 inches long) piece is covered completely by a drusy, veruginous mass of lavender Creedite measuring 6 5 x .1 cm. The color just can’t be captured by the camera, but is a medium lavender. Unusual variety of this rare aluminum salt. This small cabinet specimen is only one of two I have found.

MINERAL: Smithsonite
LOCATION: Kelly Mine, Magdalena District Socorro County, New Mexico
This translucent blue/green specimen of Smithsonite is quite different than the mamillary masses that were normally found at Kelly Mine. This is a nice size specimen that measures 4.2 x 3.1 x 1.1 cm. It shows off the beauty that makes Smithsonite so collectable. Very reasonable price on this rather remarkable piece.

(Calcite after ikaite) Pseudomorph
LOCATION: Olenitsa River, White Sea Coast, East Karelia Republic, Northern Russia
Pseudomorphs of calcite after an unknown mineral (possibly ikaite) with steep pyramidal form. These pseudomorphs are frequently formed of imbricated groups of pyramids, packed one within the other to make prismatic forms up to 8 or 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) in length. Also known as White Sea hornlets. This specimen measures 4.4 cm x 6 cm x 3.5 cm with the large crystals to 2 cm in length

Superb apple green crystals up to 10 mm in this Guangxi Province Pyromorphite. This specimen presents the unique crystal habit of stacked barrel shaped crystals that branch out in a way that is reminiscent of some branching cactus varieties that makes this mineral so popular. No damage on this miniature. Specimen is well formed and measures 4.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm with crystals to 1 cm.

This druse growth of gem quality transparent to translucent Hessionite (gem Grossular garnet)crystals is composed of dodecahedrons and trapezohedrons with very sharp and well defined faces and edges. They are honey yellow to light gold in color. The specimen measures 33 x 26 x14 mm. The individual gem quality crystals measure up to 6 mm. Outstanding but quite rare specimen of this beautiful gem.

MINERAL: Rutile in Quartz Polished Cab
LOCATION: Itabira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Wow. I have never seen such a beautiful specimen. This is a 40 cm diameter 25 cm high (1.5 in x .8 inch) hemisphere of polished completely transparent quartz holding a magnificent hematite and rutile specimen. It just can’t be photographed because of the dazzling rutile needles radiating from the central hematite core. It is simply awesome. If you want additional pictures let me know. One only of these.

This item is from the Ulrich Bahmann Collection. This specimen is composed of dense, elongated, tabular, twinned crystals of transparent clear Cerussite. It measures 45 cm x35 cm x 22 cm (1.75 inches long) The largest cerrusite crystal is 13 cm. Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral, usually found in the oxidized zone of lead ore deposits. Well formed and attractive.
