A few years back glass clear Spessartines with a beautiful wine red color started to show up at some of the gem shows. None recently, but this one is typical of the find in the Ourozimbo Mine. This one has superb color and clarity. Certainly it could be cut if desired, but why? It is 40 x 18 x 18 mm - just under 1.5 inches long. Beautiful!

A beautiful thick dark purple hemisphere that glows when backlit, . It is 4 cm around by 2.5 cm high. This is a good size specimen, just at 1.5 inches across. Unusual formation - excellent addition to any collection.

Stunning Dioptase from Namibia. This 36 x 24 x 9 cm miniature just sparkles due its very high luster. The bright dark green color rivals the finest emeralds. This specimen contains dozens of rhombohedron crystals which are very reflective due to a fairly high luster. Under magnification, I noted one or two crystals had a slightly abraded edge on one or two facets, but it is not eye visible. Dioptase is one of the minerals that does not photograph well. This photo doesn’t do it justice, you have to see it.

Attractive crystalline mass of Chalcopyrite. 3 x 2 x 1 cm in size. This is copper pyrite, as opposed to the more common Pyrite which is Iron pyrite. Most crystal faces have the common striations and one has trigons.

Two good sprays of Rutile extending from a black Hematite base. High refractiveness of the rutile is set off well by the dark black hematite center. There is some Hematite on both sprays of needles. The Hematite and Rutile are highly refractive making for a very good example of the high refractivity of both minerals.

1.5 inch (4 mm) Heliodor (Golden Beryl) single crystal. Medium Gold and very gemmy. Well formed and terminated crystals shows typical inclusions and hexagonal structure. Mounted on clear acrylic base. this material is from Rangkul, Tajikistan. Very attractive piece.

Bright,semi-translucent to opaque dark green crystals of Tourmaline with Cleavelandite, a variety of Albite that forms forms extremely thin, platy, white and sometimes very transparent crystals, and several clear Quartz crystals. Largest Tourmaline Crystal is 9 mm. Specimen is 32 x 20 x 28 mm overall. Specimen has no damage.

Extraordinarily artistic Prehnite from the new find at Arrondissement Nioro du Sahel, Matia, Cercle de Yelimane, of the Kayes Region in Mali. This one looks like it was made by a true artist. It measures 47 x 25 x 25 mm. Excellent condition with no damage. The Prehnite sphere is 15 mm across. It is a lovely lime green. The Prehnite is on a dark brown/black epidote double terminated crystals. Unique to this location. Fantastic specimen, one of the best from this area.

Excellent single crystal of Golden Topaz from Brazil. Crystal is naturally terminated and measures 35 x 10 x 5 mm in size. Color is beautiful medium gold. Specimen is mounted on a clear acrylic base.

Bright Blue Cavansite crystals cover well formed Stilbite base. Attractive formation is well coated with Cavansite presenting pleasing appearance. Numerous Stilbite crystals to 15 mm. Cavansite crystals are clear but measure only 1mm at best. Specimen is mounted on clear acrylic base. Easily removed if desired.
